About CIT
The V. Rangasamy Naidu Educational Trust devoted to the cause of promoting Technical and Scientific Literacy, established Coimbatore Institute of Technology, popularly known as CIT in 1956 with the founder principalship of Shri.P.R.Ramakrishnan, an alumnus of MIT, USA. The Institute is situated in sprawling campus of about 25 hectares on the Chennai-Cochin national highway (NH-47) and is about 7 kilometers from Coimbatore Railway Junction and 2 kilometers from Civil Aerodrome.

The Institute has grown from strength to strength and attained autonomous status in 1987. The Institute, affiliated to the Anna University, Coimbatore offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral programs in various disciplines. A number of scholars are actively involved in research in the fields viz., Intelligent Computing, Bio-Informatics, Sensor Networks, Automotive Electronics, etc. About 30,000 professionals graduated from CIT are rendering excellent service globally with many CITians occupying coveted positions.
